Lilihan Defined
A town south of Arak in western Iran which is known for rugs similar in design to Sarouks. Like Sarouks, many Lilihans were exported to the United States in the 1920s and 1930s and were painted with a burgundy colored background. Lilihans are single wefted and are woven on a cotton foundation using an asymmetrical knot.
